The main challenge for this project was to redesign the interface of the website to fit significant changes in the work processes of the media and new brand identity.

Before the Russian full-scale invasion, Gwara Media focused on the development of a creative ecosystem in Kharkiv. Right now, Gwara is a large regional media outlet about Kharkiv Oblast; it covers war crimes committed in the region, reports about recovery efforts and tells stories of various local communities. Also, Gwara launched new products: fact-check bot “Perevirka,” a news feed, a powerful photo and video department.

That’s why, having refreshed the design for a new brand identity, we’ve developed additional content formats, such as: a separate UI/UX for news pieces and photo and video stories (the latter - with an emphasis on visual component of the material.) Apart from that, we’ve optimized content grid and navigation to help readers focus better and improve their experience on the website.
